An Artist Crossing

As a student, I created bulletin boards while designing stage props, expressing my artistic passion. My portfolio at Baylor University reflected studies in charcoal, canvas, sculpture, and clay. Upon graduation, I launched

my professional greeting card line while painting custom tile murals for residential/commercial venues.

Relocating to southern California graced me as mom to Luke, Perry, and Claire (my greatest blessings) as I continued to volunteer my artistic services within the community and schools, fundraising organizations, and our church. I maintained my professional career producing acrylic and mixed medium artwork.

Abruptly, life fractured in 2006 facing an aggressive Leukemia. The year brought cancer treatments, isolation, and fatigue, including relocation to Seattle for a bone marrow transplant. Despite turmoil, this “Part II” of my life brought rejuvenation for expressive writing and painting. I discovered most of my written words were deeply and emotionally consuming while blank canvases were increasingly filled with colorful palettes of energy and movement.

In the God space between, I found balance for my soul.

Today, I work from my studio on Lake Travis in my native Texas yet continue to spend much time in California. As an artist, I offer innovative vision through dramatic, spirited art. I take freedom with dimension, color, and texture. My motivation to paint and write continues as an expression of my lifetime journey.
